Hey there people! I will kick off the Introductions section Im Shell - same as my user name - gee I am original at thinking up names huh??? lol..... My hubby Craig and I have a stud named CM Sporthorses, located at Minnipa, on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia......... We have quite a collection of horses (I am NOT going to count them, but its over 20....I am afraid the real headcount may scare my hubby somewhat! lol), we have 6 sheep - well, 7 at the moment - one of the neighbours sheep is visiting...... 10 goats, 1 cow who thinks shes a horse....... 1 kangaroo named Mrs Squiggle - shes very cute!, 2 dogs and 7 cats........ Enough to keep us busy!!! We have two lovely Cleveland Bay Sporthorse Stallions who are listed in the Partbred Stallions section of the forum, and our mares are listed in the Breeding Section with who they are in foal to...... This next 12 months is going to be very busy for us!!! Craig and I dont have any 'human' kids at this stage, so when people ask if we have children, we say "Yep, and all of ours we can legally shoot or sell!" We get strange looks til they work out we are only joking! lol..... (but it is true! lol) I am a photographer, artist and designer.........and spend a lot of time at the computer and working on websites that I have built and maintain, and also on adverts for magazines and whatnot...... I am always trying to keep in touch with CB owners and breeders, and love promoting the breed whereever and whenever I can........ Looking forward to this forum growing and 'meeting' new people! Cheers............ Shell PS Heres a pic of Hubby and me taken at Taronga Park Zoo in Sydney a few years ago.....

Hello everyone! My name is Michelle but few people also call me Shell, so not to 'confuse' with other Shell lol.... My user name is Talkingshell, why did I pick that name, well it's simple really.....I talk to much (TALKING) and my short version of Michelle (SHELL), that adds up to TALKINGSHELL....simple hey! I am the only horsey crazy in my family....have non-horsey hubby and 2 kids who likes horses but won't ride them lol How did I came across to a CB breed but I think it's a small world how I happened to be on one of the other forums and Shell who is another user here was showing some photos of their newborn foals, Cullen his real name is CM Cullen Eachan just caught my eye and I fell in love with him because he was real cheeky little sod even he is still today! I did saw a real nice CB horse that was riding at the Adult Riding Club and said to myself I would like to own one of these horses one day! Well about 20 years later I am the proud owner of a CB Sporthorse! I am an amatuer photographer and also newsletter editor for the CBHSA and also an Adult Riding Club, that keeps me on my toes lol And try to promote the wonderful rare CB breed..... Cheers Shell PS Here's a picture of my Cullen, too pretty for a CB, don't you reckon?

Hi all. My name is Terri and I live in Mount Helena Western Australia. I got into Cleveland Bays when I was looking around to buy a baby. After going to many studs to look at their stallions, mares and foals I was feeling pretty disheartened. Mainly due to the fact you couldnt go near the stallions or they would savage you and the mares and foals were all in massive paddocks and you couldnt get near them. Finally saw an add on Cavalletti a picture of a sweet looking 3 month old foal for sale at Windermere Stud Albany and he was extremely affordable. Thought what the hell I may as well take the 4hour trip down and check him out. When we got there we were greeted warmly by Lorraine who showed us around her magnificent property. To my amazement the mares and foal all trotted up to meet us so we could really check them out. I fell instantly in love with the llittle fella I had gone down to see. He had personality plus. At this stage the hubby was still a little unsure until Lorraine took us to meet Sandgate Reznor. To our sheer amazement he was not locked away in a stable or yard but running freely with a few mares. When we got to his paddock Lorraine called him and I will never forget seeing this massive bulk of a horse come thundering toward us. The hubby was pulling me back from the gate thinking he was going to run straight through it. But no! Max screeched to a halt and started rubbing himself at the gate. Lorraine invited us to go into the paddock and look him over. His temperament was just to die for and the hubby was completely sold. Yep bought Nemo rigth there and then. Nemo (Windermere Nemesis) has certainly been imprinted with his dads temperament and good looks. Ive had horses all my life but never had one with so much personallity. He has grown into a really beauty with movement to boot. He is now 4 years old and recently started under saddle. Ive been taking him to adult riding club to get him used to working with lots of other horses and aside from a few initial hiccups he is going well. The only criticism I would say about him is that although he is built like a horse (16.2hh) he is mentally very much a baby. Since owning Nemo I have met many people who have Clevelands and Cleveland Sporthorses but many havent got their horses registered. Ive been trying hard to get them to register them.

Hi All Cullen is way to pretty for a CB I had a CB at 17, she was my dream horse, we had the best times together, unfortunatly she broke her neck down falling down a bank, I wa never having horses again. Of course I did, but it's taken 15 yrs to get my dream horse. Handled CB's in the UK, along with warmbloods and other breeds. Just kept coming back to these guys. Hey Terri, i've got one of Lorraine's filly's. Merry, by Sandgate Reznor, she's got a bumpy nose and a temperment to die for. 1/4 CB, but acts all CB. I had forgotten how different they are from TB's and Arabs (what i've been playing with mostly), so much more pleasant. Or though i'm not sure I appreciate Merry's help fencing or digging drains. I was digging out the soak pit and the drain leading to it and she had a foot in there pawing the whole time I was digging. I've had some fun with her, she learns so very quickly. Unfortunatly, she may have a permanant capped hock to go with her bumpy nose. She came off the side of a ramp, when we were going up for a horses and horseman's course. Like you said Terri, people see a fully grown horse, she looks like a grown up tb at 2 1/2 and unfortunatly gets treated as such. Poor little girl. She can still move thought, whew, I wonder about riding that big stride. She is so confused by the lack of grass here, i'm sure, lol.

Hey there Te Pai Ora..........I was so close to buying Merry. She was on the market for a while and hubby and I were seriously considering getting her. She is very much like Nemo. If only I could work out how to post pictures I would post a couple to show you. Shame about her hock. Has it effected her soundness??

Hello everyone! I am new to the CB scene, I have only owned my CB sporthorse for 10 days! I live in Western Vic, basically a pleasure rider, but I hope to do a bit of ARC with her in future. We have some issues to sort out, but I think she will be a super riding horse eventually (or a nice broodie ) So here she is:

Hello again Thanks girsl, I think she is pretty too. No Sonja , she has lived in Vic all her life. It's probably easy to mix them up, what with the variety of colour... Well, we had a "floating" lesson Saturday ( which was actually supposed to be a ride at the club, but someone had other ideas) So after 1.5hrs, I was able to walk her in & off again without "sillies" , but not put the back up (there are monsters there) so we called it a day on a positive note.... & I took my other mare Will go out this arvo & pop a saddle on again & do some "trailing" around the place. Can't go to far, have small boy (who will horpefully be sleeping for a hour or two) and don't really know what tricks she may have to suprise me with I hope NONE!!
